THE GOVERNMENT IS SENDING US MONEY!

Individual taxpayers may be entitled to up to $600 in rebates and married couples may receive up to $1,200. Those with children may get an additional $300 per child. These rebates may be subject to income limitations and the Government expects to be mailing the rebates starting sometime this spring. We are relieved to inform you that President Bush signed the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2007 [HR 3996] on December 26, 2007. The legislation was passed to prevent an estimated 25 million taxpayers from becoming subject to AMT (Alternative Minimum Tax). The new law allows taxpayers to use most non-refundable personal tax credits to offset AMT liability. The signing of this “AMT Patch” solves the problem of a possible delayed tax season for many tax payers.
